SONY DSC

Well, South Florida’s weather is crazy, unpredictable!

Having a wedding outdoor could be an amazing idea, why? If you like to be in connection with nature, if you are planning a rustic themed wedding or if you are simply tired of the “typical” wedding, an outdoor wedding is a great idea!

However, there are few factors you should keep in mind:

1. Hurricane Season: The peak of the hurricane season in Florida is from August to October. You don’t want a hurricane to ruin your wedding day, right?

2. Rainy Season: The peak of the rainy season in our region is from June to September.

3. Hottest Months: The hottest months in Florida are June, July and August. Trust me when I tell you this: When is hot in Florida, it’s HOT! It might sound nasty, but if you take a shower right now, then you go outside, you will be sweating in 5 minutes without any physical activity.

In conclusion, the months not recommend for an outdoor wedding are: JUNE, JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER.

Best month for a wedding in South Florida?

406394_501529623193030_1364256493_n

As you know, compared to other states, Florida is a very “lucky” state. While in most of the states summer is the highest season for a wedding. In Florida, any month could be good for your wedding. But which month is the best? FEBRUARY!

Why February? Easy! There are 3 main reasons:

1. Rainfall: Florida is a crazy state when it comes to weather. Yes! Right now it might be sunny, 30 minutes later is raining. Just like that. February has the lowest rainfall percentage during the year.

2. Temperature: Florida is known by its nice and warm temperatures, but keep in mind this. When in Florida is hot, It is very hot, humid and uncomfortable. When does this happen? 9 months of year out of 12. February has a very nice and mild temperature average: 77- High – 61- Low.

3. Money: High season for events in Florida is between September to December, so February is not the highest, that means better prices when booking your ceremony and reception site.

Getting married… What is the first step?

Image

When it comes to a wedding there are 1,236 details to take care of, you know what I mean, right? What is the first step?

Well, the one which represents more money and time. Reception venue!

A church, temple or a ceremony site usually are much easier to find than a Reception Venue. To start making your invitations and to start preparing your budget you need to know how much the most expensive “thing” of the wedding is going to cost. Usually finding a reception venue takes a lot of time but it is worth it start with this! Trust me! After this step, everything else flows lighter.

TIP: Ask for specific prices when looking for a venue, what it includes exactly, fees, ask if there is any other fee you need to know (hidden fees) and have a list of these questions before going to these places so you won’t forget.

Is it necessary a Wedding Planner?

Image

Well, it depends on you, Bride. If you have some experience on planning events, you think you can handle the stress, you have people around you can really trust and know they will do everything they are suppose to when the big day comes without you worrying about it . Of course you don’t need a Wedding Planner! Why would you pay more money when you already have all these other expenses, right?

The thing is most of the brides don’t want to handle the big amount of stress a wedding has, brides want to make sure when they remember their wedding in the future, they don’t remember a nightmare, stress, tears, tiredness. In other words, every bride wants to have nice and beautiful memories of her wedding day, am I right? Yes!

Straight to the point, do you have few hundred dollars you think you can spend on a Wedding Planner? Do you? If you do, use them! A Wedding Planner is not a luxury, it is an investment! It is worth it! It is not a waste of money, you are paying to have “another YOU” handling all the stress, while the “real” you enjoys her wedding day. Is it making sense? Hope so!

Tip: Want to save some money? Hire a “Day of” wedding planner, instead of a Full-service wedding planner. The “Day of” wedding planner will help you a week before the event, making sure everything is flowing with all the vendors, venue, ceremony site and during your wedding day he/she will be handling all the stress, last minute problems and full coordination of your whole wedding, before, during and after your event begins.

Beach Wedding in South Florida Part 1

One of the most popular themes for a wedding in South Florida, yes! It’s a Beach Wedding. Why?

There are few reasons why. One of the reasons, it’s because they are very affordable compared to some other themes. At the beach, pretty much what need is chairs, a chuppah or an arch, the groom and the bride. Depending on what you want, this might cost you around $500 to $700. Good prices, trust me! The Wedding Industry is an expensive one.

Another reason why, it’s because of the connection with nature on your wedding day. The beach, white sands, palm trees, ect. It also gives a very casual, rustic, tropical, not-formal touch to your wedding – I personally dislike those weddings where you can not even move because you feel like you’re doing something wrong, they are so formal you feel trapped in it! DISLIKE!

The last reason, you can add own personal touch. While getting married in a venue, church, temple or anywhere similar to it might be significant and traditional, sometimes you are unable to add your personal touch to it. Having a Beach Wedding might be the way to go when you want to DIY, which saves you a lot of money and to show personal style.
